The Youth Counselling project depends on the generosity of community organisations and charitable foundations large and small.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for professional mental health services has become ever-greater and so we are especially thankful to our partners for their help raising money for those young people who are experiencing difficult times.

Seaford Scene magazine recently featured a number of stories of people in our local area rolling their sleeves up to support The Youth Counselling Project.  Generous contributions include Julie’s Raffle at Scoop and Weigh raising a whopping £750, the Plough Inn’s quarterly pub quiz raising £156 and Seaford’s Community Cinema generously raising £100 for mental health.

The Youth Counselling project is a volunteer-run charity in the Seaford area.  Every £50 we raise can provide a one hour session for a young person with a professional psychotherapist or counsellor.  We are grateful that the announcements in this blog post will enable us to provide up to 229 therapy sessions for young people experiencing difficult times.

Look out for Holly Manktelow’s epic swim across this English Channel later this month (you can support her here!) and we’ll report back soon on the latest efforts to support the mental health of young people in the area.
